The issue of government bonds of the Republic of San Marino is authorised within the annual limit set in the State Budget, approved each year by the Great and General Council, pursuant to Article 18 of Law no. 30 of 18 February 1998, or in any budget adjustment law, pursuant to Article 25 of the same Law.
The characteristics of each issue of government bonds are defined by special delegated decrees, which regulate each issue.
Government bonds are issued pursuant to Article 3 of Law no.158 of 22 December 2025, "BUDGETS OF THE STATE AND PUBLIC ENTITIES FOR THE 2026 FINANCIAL YEAR AND MULTI-ANNUAL BUDGETS FOR 2026-2028"
Three issues of government bonds totalling EUR 450,000,000 (four hundred and fifty million euros) are planned for 2026, to roll over government bonds issued and placed on the domestic market for EUR 100,000,000 (one hundred million euros) and on the international market for EUR 350,000,000 (three hundred and fifty million euros).
