Trasport

Being responsible for Transport, the Ministry of Finance and Budget monitors all activities relating to the free movement of persons, goods and services that fall within the scope of the bilateral agreements and regulations in force between the Republic of San Marino and the Republic of Italy.

In particular, the administrative activity carried out by the Ministry focuses on the authorisation and control of the transport of persons on the San Marino-Rimini international route and the transport of students, currently only on the San Marino-Riccione route, in accordance with the 1997 bilateral agreement with the Republic of Italy.

With reference to the above-mentioned agreement, the Ministry of Transport, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, is responsible for the authorisation procedure relating to applications submitted by San Marino companies and operators to carry out cabotage operations, which are also included in the provisions of Article 16 of the 1997 bilateral agreement with the Italian Republic.

In addition, the Ministry of Transport, together with the Ministry responsible for relations with the Public Utilities Autonomous State Corporation and the Ministry of Education, is responsible for defining the terms and conditions for the provision of private school transport to San Marino students attending schools within the territory and for signing the relevant agreement.

Finally, for more than a decade, the Ministry of Transport, through the Civil Aviation, Maritime Navigation and Homologation Authority, has extended its competences to all activities related to the Aircraft and Ship Registers, which have significantly contributed to the development and growth of San Marino economy in recent years.
The results achieved in the aviation, maritime and homologation sectors have been possible thanks to the indispensable support of professional and highly-skilled partners who promote the specific features of our registers in a broad international context, based above all on highly competitive systems and on registration, inspection and certification activities that comply with the most advanced relevant international standards and agreements.
